How To Get Food
The BCFC operates on Wednesdays at Brookfield High School, 824 Brookfield Rd, Ottawa, Ontario.
Hours:
- Wednesdays 4:30–8:00 pm (until June 24th)
- Closed Canada Day, July 1st, 2025
- Summer Hours (July & August): Wednesdays 2:00–5:00 pm
Service Area: We serve residents living north of Hunt Club Road, between Bank Street and the Rideau River, extending to Billings Bridge. We ask those living outside these boundaries to seek assistance from food banks or cupboards within their communities.
How to Access: The Cupboard entrance is located at the south end of the Brookfield High School parking lot. We provide food each week on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register your Postal Code upon arrival to select your items from those we supply.
What We Provide: We provide families of all sizes enough non-perishable items to provide a full day of meals. When available, we also offer donated baked goods, fresh produce during summer months, and other donated items that may include foods, personal and household hygiene products. Please note that dairy and meat are not regularly available.
Items we often provide:
- Cereal, breakfast items
- Powdered and evaporated milk
- Soups, crackers, canned tuna or sardines
- Canned vegetables and tomatoes
- Rice, beans and legumes, pasta, macaroni and cheese, sauces
- School snacks, granola bars, canned fruit, fruit juices, dried fruit
- Peanut butter, spreads, jam, muffin mixes, vegetable or seed oils
- Baby foods (not formula), diapers, toothbrushes, can openers
- Personal hygiene products
Registration: No identification is required. We only ask for your postal code.
